Science and Professional Conversation Practice
Rehearsed or free style conversation practice for students and professionals.
Our talk will focus on the sciences, humanities, business, and other fields where technical jargon and international experience are concerned.
Description
What are your academic and professional inclinations? If you want to combine your intended or existing vocation with English proficiency, a technical discussion may be what you need to hone your skills.
As a PhD in Physics with research experience in Europe and the US, I can engage in technical conversation on any topic. Just let me know what your interests are, and we can both discuss it, as professionals.
We can call it professional role-play, and it will be based on the reality of the work you want to do, or the studies you want to pursue. You can either choose the trial to set the stage for your professional preferences, or dive right into the dialogue.
This can prove useful for students and professionals planning to work abroad, or who plan to spend much of their time with other English speakers in their work.
Included is advice in giving talks and presentations, if desired.
The 50 minute lesson is similar to the free style course I offer, only a bit more formal. Regardless of your field of interest, (in any field of study or business), I will come prepared to hold my end of the conversation, and point out where your own expression can use some polishing.
Like the other course, I will encourage questions so you can clarify issues of expression and comprehension on your end. Since this is about academic and career specialization intermediary and advanced English are recommended.
I have had scientific conversations with non-native speakers for many years, at conferences and research collaborations, and I am bilingual. You are in good hands with this one.

This is still an English lesson, however. It is about the linguistic demands of the area of expression. As such, the lesson is very much structured like its more casual conterpart that I offer.
There will be 30 min of discussion and 20 min "lesson" around it. Like it's sister lesson, it is designed to cultivate your comfort in communicating; only the emphasis is more professional.
In this way, you can radiate confidence in any specialized formal context, academic or carreer related, when and where clear communication is warranted.
