Welcome to our film comprehension discussion lesson! In this session, we'll explore a short film together to enhance our understanding of storytelling, visual language, and comprehension skills in English.

  1. Introduction: We'll begin by introducing the short film we'll be watching.
  2. Film Viewing: We'll watch the selected short film in its entirety.
  3. Question Session: Following the screening, we'll engage in a discussion answering 10 questions related to the film. These questions will cover various aspects such as plot, characters, themes, and filmmaking techniques.
  4. Additional Questions: If time allows, you're welcome to ask any additional questions you may have about the film or its context.
Question Types:
 
  1. Plot Analysis: Understanding the sequence of events and character motivations.
  2. Character Exploration: Analyzing the personalities, traits, and development of characters.
  3. Theme Identification: Identifying the central ideas or messages conveyed in the film.
  4. Visual and Cinematic Elements: Discussing the use of camera angles, lighting, and sound to convey meaning.
  5. Personal Reflection: Encouraging students to express their thoughts, feelings, and interpretations of the film.
Goal:
Our aim is to deepen our comprehension of the film while also improving our English language skills. By discussing the film together, we'll gain insights into its narrative structure, thematic elements, and the techniques used by filmmakers to convey meaning.
 
Duration:
This lesson will last approximately one hour, with ample time allocated for both the film viewing and the subsequent discussion session.
