This lesson is designed for those who are just starting out on the saxophone. We will focus on building a solid foundation, covering the essential techniques needed to get you playing confidently and producing a clear, controlled sound. No prior experience is required, and by the end of the lesson, you’ll be able to play simple melodies and scales.
Topics Covered:
- Embouchure: Learn the proper way to position your mouth on the mouthpiece to create a clear, steady tone.
- Finger Placement: Get comfortable with the saxophone keys and learn the correct finger positions for different notes.
- Tone Production: Understand how to control your breath and air flow to produce a rich, full sound on the saxophone.
- Basic Music Reading: Introduction to reading sheet music and simple rhythms, helping you follow along and start playing songs.
- Scales and Simple Melodies: Begin learning basic scales and easy melodies to apply the techniques we cover in a musical context.
Methodologies:
Lessons will be hands-on, with a focus on learning through playing. We will start with simple exercises to get you comfortable with the instrument, followed by playing basic scales and short melodies to reinforce the techniques. I’ll provide feedback and personalized tips to help you improve as you go. You’ll also receive practice exercises to work on between lessons to build your confidence and skills.
