レッスンの詳細

You have probably heard the saying "What's up?" or "Break a leg!" What about "This ain't half bad." or "Money doesn't grow on trees."?

In this lesson, you will learn what these phrases mean and how to use them. Knowing how to properly use these phrases will take your English to the next level! You will sound like a native citizen!

This lesson is structured to teach many different idioms, common phrases, and slang that is used primarily in the United States. There will be multiple categories that might take more than one lesson to cover.
Categories will include:

  • Idioms: Words/group of words that have a meaning that you cannot derive from its elements (Example: It's raining cats and dogs= It is raining very hard.)
  • Slang: groups of words considered informal and used in verbal English (Example: No cap! =someone is telling the truth about something.)
  • Common phrases: Example: I need to rain check our meeting= I cannot attend the meeting, but I can meet some other time.

First, the meaning and definition will be explained. Then, the appropriate usage will be taught. Pronunciation and fluidity will also be taught. We will learn as many phrases as you desire.

Depending on your needs, I will structure the lesson accordingly. If you wish to learn idioms in a formal setting, like for the workplace, the lesson will be different than if you want to learn idioms for everyday conversation.
