A zero-waste lifestyle (no plastic)
Last year I thought about how I could improve my life and the life of people around me. I notice that in my society there was a real problem with our production of waste. I decided to reduce my consumption of plastic and production of waste, as our seas and oce
ans are more and more polluted by waste. Even our land is polluted by unrecycled trash and our air by burnt waste that could have been composted to return to the earth.
Last year I started my zero-waste journey. I decided to stop buying products that were wrapped in plastic. I also stopped using plastic bags, plastic straws, plastic cutlery, etc, because plastic takes 300 years to decompose, but we only use it for 20 minutes.
I started living differently and it made me feel good. I had to eat healthier. I am now only buying fresh food at the market, such as vegetables, meat, fish, cheese etc. Everything is grown locally and is organic.
For the rest I buy everything in bulk stores. For example pasta, rice, beans, soap, oil etc. I buy everything without plastic and everything is organic and cheap as there is no brand to promote, so no marketing to pay for, and no container to pay for.
To do that, I only use reusable containers that I can wash. Such as jars, food containers and hand-made bags.
I also only use hand-made washable cotons and I only use natural products to wash and hydrate my skin.
Any food waste that can return to the earth goes into my composte. I can then use it to feed my plants or put it in my communal compost.
Little gestures are the key to our future
Think about the environment, think about our planet, think about our future.
