Warm-Up (5 minutes)
Start with a quick discussion about favorite activities. Students will share one activity they enjoy, practicing speaking in simple sentences. This helps activate their prior knowledge and sets the context for writing.
Introduction to Writing Basics (10 minutes)

Review key elements of writing simple sentences:

  • Capitalization (starting with a capital letter)
  • Basic punctuation (full stops and commas)
  • Subject-verb agreement (e.g., “She likes swimming”)
    The teacher will provide several examples on the board and guide students in identifying correct vs. incorrect sentence structures.

Controlled Writing Activity (10 minutes)
Students will complete gap-fill exercises to reinforce sentence structure. They'll write sentences using simple prompts like:

  • "I live in ____."
  • "My favorite food is ____."
    This activity will give students practice in forming sentences independently while still offering support
Paragraph Writing Practice (15 minutes)In pairs, students will work together to write a short paragraph (3-4 sentences) about their daily routine or hobby. The teacher will offer support by circulating the room, answering questions, and helping with vocabulary.
Feedback and Conclusion (5 minutes)Selected students will read their paragraphs aloud. The teacher will give constructive feedback, focusing on strengths and areas for improvement. Finally, the class will recap key takeaways from the lesson.
