课程介绍

You've made a lot of progress with your English, you're feeling pleased with yourself, and now your English needs polishing. This class is for people who already have a good grasp of grammar and a wide vocabulary but need to refine and strengthen their English, and want to do so using coursebook style exercises.

We will practise:

Correct forms of verbs ~ e.g. 'seek', 'seeking' or 'sought'?
Correct prepositions with verbs and nouns ~ e.g. 'prevented against' or 'prevented from'?
Correct words ~ e.g. 'skin irritation' or 'skin annoyance'?
Lexical sets ~ e.g. 'smile', 'grin', 'grimace', 'smirk'
Word formation ~ e.g. 'avoid', 'avoidance', 'avoidable', 'unavoidable', 'unavoidably'
Phrasal verbs ~ e.g. 'come to', 'come up against', 'come through'

The emphasis of this class is on accuracy and lexical expansion and versatility. We will be using my materials (coursebook style exercises) for this lesson but if you have a vocabulary book of your own which you occasionally need help with please feel free to discuss your requirements with me. If you do not already have a gmail account please get one so we can share and edit documents together.
