Aloha! My name is Denise and I want to help you learn English! I was born in Japan, grew up in Hawaii, and currently live in Las Vegas, Nevada with my husband, 2 dogs, and 2 cats. My hobbies include running, baking, and traveling. I love training for marathons and baking anything with chocolate :) I have friends and family in Japan, and I always look forward to eating and shopping when I visit. I also enjoy meeting people from different countries. My love for different cultures, languages, and helping others with their language skills is the reason I enjoy teaching English.
Qualifications:
-Master's degree in education (adult and higher education)
-TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) Certificate
-Experience teaching English to university students and middle school students (but all ages are welcome!)
My classes:
-I can tailor my lessons to your needs! (i.e. practicing speaking skills, learning new phrases for traveling, improving grammar and writing skills, etc.)
-Depending on your goals and preferences, I can create worksheets and games to make learning fun.
-I will provide a safe and comfortable learning environment where it is ok to make mistakes. Thats how we learn!
-I will give you constructive feedback at the end of each lesson. You will know what you did well and what you should practice.
-If you need to use some Japanese while you learn, that's ok, because I speak some Japanese!
-Let's have fun while learning English!
