Hello!
I am a native English speaker from the United Kingdom, currently living in Cumberland, UK.
I love books, libraries, and language learning.
I am new to teaching English, but I have a strong interest in my native English; at the University of St Andrews, I studied English Literature, and Medieval History, and the historical language of Anglo-Saxon.
Over the years, I have learnt other languages myself, German, Latin, and Old English, which I believe gives me an insight into the challenges which students face. In my spare time, I enjoy translating the languages which I have learnt.
Because I enjoy languages myself, both from a grammatical and a conversational point of view, I would like to share my understanding of English with you, and to help you become more proficient.
I have recently completed a TEFL/TESOL course, on teaching English as a foreign language.
I have lived in different parts of Britain, from Scotland to Oxfordshire, and I enjoy being outdoors, and exploring the countryside wherever I am living.
I have travelled, by train and ferry, from Oxford, UK, to Moscow, Russia, via Brussels and Berlin, and across Poland and Belarus. I stayed in Moscow for two weeks, and I understand how crucial languages are.
Please note, I only offer lessons to adult students. Lessons are never recorded.
I have some students who prefer not to use the video camera. If this is the case, then just ask!
