Learning a new language can be intimidating and challenging for most people. It is a process that may require multiple years of patience, consistency and discipline, but one that generates extraordinary benefits in the long run, especially in the area of personal growth and self-improvement.

As we learn, not only do our language skills and abilities expand, but we also grow as individuals, having a better understanding of who we are.

While it is true that grammar, pronunciation or vocabulary are elements that must be studied constantly, there are other areas in the learning process that often go unnoticed, and that are absolutely necessary to create solid foundations in our endevours to learn a new language.

My mission is to help students improve their fundamental language skills, expand their linguistic resources, and most importantly, recognize opportunities for personal growth and obtain the tools necessary to overcome psychological and emotional barriers.

My lessons are based on concepts such as self-awareness, emotional intelligence, mindfulness, goal setting, habit building, productivity, the psychology of learning, book discussion, etc.

Additionally, I teach regular language lessons on grammatical structures, vocabulary, reading, and last but not least, business and entrepreneurship.

That doesn't mean we can't have free and spontaneous conversations based on the topics of conversation that arise in the moment. I really enjoy listening and learning from other people, so we could also talk about your interests, hobbies, goals, dreams, career, etc for as long as you want.

When I decided to become an English teacher in 2011, I started by teaching rudimentary and basic book-based lessons, and did so for a few years.

In fact, when I got my TKT certification, my teaching style was purely academic.

Gradually I began to have a better understanding of students' psychological and emotional shortcomings, which create mental barriers that are difficult to overcome.

I understood then that it was necessary to fill the lack of guidance in that sense, and I started to mix my classes with elements of self-improvement and self-knowledge.

I have been working with Japanese students since 2016, and believe me I have learned a lot. I consider Japan's culture and history to be unique and extraordinary, and it is a real privilege to learn about it first hand.

Something that really inspired me to teach English and Spanish from a more mindful point of view is the concept of Zen Buddhism, which I had the immense privilege of learning from my Japanese students.

Since then my view of the way knowledge is acquired has changed substantially. Learning, rather than depending on external factors, is now for me an introspective process.

By acquiring the knowledge and linguistic resources to be able to put into words the very core of their essence, students set out on a self-discovery journey through which they learn more about who they really are, what it is that they want in life,  where to go, and how to get there. A journey to the depths of their souls, full of wonders and beauty.

With this mindset, proper guidance and core foundations, the learning process can be utilized as a means of introspection, self-improvement and enhanced tolerance towards imperfections and errors, skills that will not only guarantee success in acquiring foreign languages, but also in other areas and endeavors, whatever these may be.
