JEE. Tutor Profile

Hello.
My name is Gwon Jiyeong.
I was born in South Korea and lived in Seoul throughout my college years.
(I speak with a standard Korean accent.)

I used to work as a website manager and consultant for a major department store.
I am rejoiced to have stumbled upon Cafetalk, where I can teach Korean to all of you.
I believe that every student has different needs when learning a language
During our initial consultation, I would like to discuss what you want to learn, what kind of content you are interested in, and we can come up with a lesson plan that suits you.

Let me share about some of my favorite things.

1. I enjoy listening to music.
I have recently been into music by Rise, NCT 127, Aespa, Yonezu Kenshi, Official 髭男 dism amongst others, and I occasionally go to their concerts.
I also enjoy playing the saxophone, and I like to go to Japan’s Blue Note to watch performances.
This picture is from when I went to the Asahi Dream Festival in August. It was so much fun.
2. I’m interested in cooking, so I often watch YouTube tutorials and recipebooks when I cook.
When it comes to dessert, I sbsolutely love pudding. Each cafe has their own recipe, so I feel like the charm of each type of pudding varies from place to place.
This is a pudding I had at a cafe in Shinjuku, and the caramel sauce was so delicious.
3. I also enjoy traveling.
I have been traveling and gaining overseas experience through internships and summer schools in Europe, the United States, and Southeast Asia. Now that I live in Japan, I love to travel around the country.
The photo below is from a rainy day in Nikko.
Although it rained a lot, it became a precious memory for me.
When you study on your own, you will eventually reach a certain limit.
It’s always helpful to study together with someone and feel more motivated!
Even if you’re a beginner, please don’t hesitate to get started.
Your languages skills will improve over time, so don’t be afraid to start at the very beginning while chatting Korean with me as if you were in a cafe casually chatting with your friends.
There’s a saying in Korea that starting something is already half the battle.
As long as you an push yourself to start something, you’re already half way there.

I look forward to meeting you:)
