Nice to meet you! I’m Aoi Saito

I graduated from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music last year, and I’m currently pursuing my master’s degree at Berlin University of the Arts.

Please check out my detailed profile below!

❀Lesson Features❀
  • I use teaching materials according to the progress and policy of each student. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.
  • After each lesson, I will send you detailed feedback via message so that you can review the lesson.
  • I can also make a video for you to help you practice with your hands in the vibrato course.
  • Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced player, I can help you choose the right exercises and tunes for you.
I hope that you will find enjoyment in solving problems through trial and error, rather than just finding something just fun or difficult.

I will help you find joy in various situations, such as when you discover the beauty of a piece, when you complete a difficult part, when you get a new idea, or when you learn a new technique.

I have always thought that completing a piece of music is similar to building a structure.
An architect draws a blueprint and a carpenter builds a house according to it.
A composer writes down an idea in a score, and a performer reads it and makes it into a tune.

When constructing a building, the foundation work is important.
Then, after the foundation and pillars are firmly built, detailed rooms are created and detailed designs are worked out.
If you build luxurious details while the foundation and pillars are weak, they will break, and your design options will be limited.
You can’t just focus on one room and leave the rest of the building as it is as well.
The balance of the entire building is very important.

There are similarities in playing the violin as well.
Behind every beautiful musical performance, there is a solid foundation of technique and composition.
The more solid the foundation is, the more versatile the expression can be.

It’s not a matter of whether you can clear one difficult technique or not, but when you understand the entire flow of the piece and can digest it with your mind and body, your worries and anxieties will disappear, and you will be able to enjoy creating music at the fullest.

In my lessons, based on my experience of studying at Toho and the University of the Arts, I try to teach in such a way that students can develop a solid foundation of technique as well as musical interpretation that takes into account each individual’s personality.

I want my students to practice in such a way that they can achieve a balance between “the feeling of wanting to express” and “the body that actually expresses it.

It doesn’t matter whether they are talented in performance technique or musical understanding by nature.

Whether you have never played the violin before, want to try it for the first time in a long time, or want to work hard to prepare for upcoming exams or competitions, I hope to provide you with enjoyable lessons that fit your lifestyle. I welcome everyone from young children to adult learners!
