Hi everybody. My name is James and I am native English speaker based in London, the UK. Looking for a career change, in April, of this year, I decided to become a teacher of English as a foreign language. I took the CELTA course and I passed. But why this career specifically?
In 2017 I started my language-learning journey when I began learning French. Since then I have studied Portuguese, Arabic and for the last year I have been learning Italian. Sufficed to say, languages have become a big passion of mine.
My CELTA course gave me experience teaching adult upper-intermediate and pre-intermediate learners from China, Japan, Colombia, Brazil, Portugal, Iran and Sudan etc. Since passing, I have also gained experience teaching young learners. This has all been online.
My lessons will be fun and dynamic with lots of speaking and listening exercises. You won't just be reading off a slide or taking down notes. We'll do roleplays, have debates and listen to podcasts and Youtube videos.
