momoco 講師的自我介紹

Nice to meet you! My name is momoco.

Since I was a child, I have loved ballet and dancing, but my poor health led me to start practicing yoga instead.

At first, I thought it was very relaxing to move slowly with each breath, but as I continued practicing yoga, I discovered new things, including yoga philosophy and meditation techniques, and realized that yoga is not just about the poses. It is very important to take care of your physical health, but it is just as important to take care of your mental health...

In yoga philosophy, there is the concept of “ahimsa = nonviolence,” and you may think, nonviolence is a given. But are you being ahimsa to yourself? There may be some of you who have a tendency to overwork yourself at work or in your daily life. I myself used to tell myself that even if I wasn’t feeling well, “I’ll be fine,” and just kept going. This is a form of himsa (violence) against yourself, and it makes your physical condition worse and harms  both your mental and physical health. When you hear the word “philosophy,” it may seem like a difficult concept, but I would be rejoiced if you could enjoy practicing yoga while trying to understand a little bit of its philosophy without thinking too hard.

 

 

I encourage you to use my lessons as a time to reflect on your inner self and practice according to your body’s condition! If you have any pain anywhere, take it easy and we can focus more on asana.
It is also ahimsa to take a break from lessons!
Even if you are a first time student, you are welcome to join me! I will ask you how you are feeling before the lesson, so please feel free to let me know if you have any questions.
