Hello! I'm Mikayla, an experienced tutor of english as a Second Language and a certified TEFL tutor. I live in Johannesburg ,South Africa which is also known as the city of gold, My country is beautiful and filled with stunning views that tourists all around the world come and see.
I graduated High School in 2016 and just knew i wanted to be a teacher especially an English teacher because i saw a need in various communities that surrounded me, but because of financial circumstances i was unable to go and study at University level for an education degree.
Instead of sulking i decided to do my research on how i can fulfill my dream of becoming a teacher without worrying about the financial burden or rather in an affordable way and i finally found TEFL!
It changed my life for the better as soon as i started studying and to obtaining my certificate i was so happy because finally my dreams would be able to come true.
I have worked as a teacher's assistant before in my country in one of the local schools and i have also been volunteeringly tutoring students for 2 years in my area.
Who am I?
I'm a friendly, patient, hardworking and helpful person. I love my country and its various traditions ,my country is often refered to as a 'rainbow' nation because it is so diversified.
I love spending time reading novels ,cooking and trying new recipes i discover ,designing clothes and matric dance dresses and listening to music.
What are my lessons like?
-I love pronounciation, reading and good articulation which means we will be talking alot more during my lessons so that im ableto help and dont worry about making mistakes ,i will be there to help you get back on track.
-I teach fun classes , there will never be dull moment in my class ,always feel free to speak and express yourself it is the fastest way to learn a foreign language and im a very good listener.
-Make sure to interact ,as a tutor i thrive off of interaction so please keep your camera on and dont mute the sound of your audio.
I prefer to teach students that are middle-aged to adults
I offer trial lessons for first time students for a half of the total fee points.
