About me

Hi there! ☁︎ 
Nice to meet you all. I'm Jen and I teach English here on Cafetalk. I'm new in this platform, but I have been an English teacher for nine years! 

Career:

Currently, I'm working in an international school where I teach English subjects and English exam preparatory courses like CSAT, TOEFL, and IELTS to high school students.    

Experience:

I worked in an English academy where I taught TOEIC, TOEFL, IELTS, Business Course, and ESL. My students were mostly Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Vietnamese, Taiwanese, and they were from ages 8-75 years old!

Besides that, I was also an Assistant Head Teacher and a Trainer for teachers. 

For years, I've helped students of all levels, ages, and backgrounds master the English skills they need whether it's for university or everyday life beyond school.✨


(This was a special class I offered and students can choose to attend freely. I enjoyed this a lot because the students were from different countries and age groups!)

Teaching Style:

I know that not all students learn the same way so I always adapt my my teaching style to my students' learning preferences and styles. I'd like to say that my years of experience in different class settings has helped me achieve that flexibility. ◡̈︎ 

I try my best to simplify rules and patters so they're easier to understand and remember. Learning while having fun also makes it more effective, too! 

Certifications:

I have a TESOL Certificate from Concordia International College in Canada. Over the years, I've also received Test Certifications and  Intensive Training Certificates for TOEFL, TOEIC, and IELTS.  

Fun facts:

When I'm not busy with work, I like to catch up on some reading and shows that I've missed. I also enjoy going to coffee shops and restaurants, as well as biking around a nearby park. I like learning about and experiencing diverse cultures, so I am fond of traveling around my country and abroad.◡̈︎
