Hello,

I'm a US native, that started University in the US majoring in English, Mass Communications and minoring in Journalism. I was Editorial Page Editor of the student newspaper and also underwent a yearlong internship in Public Relations where I wrote press releases on behalf of the University and articles for the school’s Alumni magazine and local town newspaper.

            I then transferred to the University Of Surrey, London, UK, where I graduated with a BA degree in English and an Advanced Media Arts Film Studies. I moved to Taiwan in late 2004 and have been and ESL teacher and tutor for the past 20-years.

Because I’m a US native and a UK University graduate, as well as living in the UK for over 4-years, I am able to teach students both, US and UK English. I’m also vastly experienced in teaching business English. I have a degree and great love for film and vast experience in writing. I have taught film studies, and am able to discuss film with the students I have tutored, which has been very beneficial throughout my years of teaching. I’ve instructed classes in creative and journalistic writing. I’ve aided students in helping them with their CV’s as well as preparing their Graduate school and Doctorial Application letters.

            I have years of experience of Online tutoring, utilizing various Online communication applications. While online tutoring, I taught students using the given textbook material or conducting Free-Speaking conversational English classes. I have helped students and adults vastly improve their English for their education or working environment.

            I am a world-traveler. I have been to every State in the US with the exception of Alaska and Hawaii. I have backpacked Europe, and traveled to several destinations in Asia, including living in Taiwan and vising other Asian destinations such as, Hong Kong, Macau, Thailand and Indonesia. Discussing travel with students has always proved to be a valuable topic that has helped students open-up and become comfortable describing their Travel experiences in a relaxed manner. I have found most students are well-traveled or plan to travel in the future. So having vast experiences in world traveling has proved to be beneficial for tutoring English.

I am open and friendly with students and encourage them to speak freely while correcting and introducing them to new, varied grammar to add to their word banks as well as helping them develop a vast and unique personal lexicon.
