Hello students! 

My name is Katherine, I am a native English teacher from England. My voice is neutral, calm and clear. I have a TEFL teaching qualification and I have been teaching English for over 3 years, mostly to Japanese and Chinese students online. 

My experience covers a wide range of levels and ages. I have taught young children, school and college students, working professionals and retired senior adults.
I adjust my lessons to suit my students' abilities and interests. Whatever interest or area of improvement you have, I can help you to develop confidence in speaking English. 

I've taught students from all around the world online (i.e. from Japan, China, Taiwan, South Korea, Thailand, Brazil and Turkey). I have also had some experience teaching English in a school to students (i.e. from Spain, Italy and Germany).

In addition to my teaching experience and qualifications, I have a BSc (Hons) Degree in Environmental Health. After gaining my degree, I spent a lot of time travelling in places such as Asia, Australia and Europe. I wanted to learn about the world and I feel I gained a lot from my experiences. I see myself as quite an open minded and approachable person. My main interests are music (guitar, keyboard, ukulele and bass), travelling, nature, cooking, yoga and meditation.

I love the experiences I have had from teaching so far. I find it a very fulfilling job, and it is interesting for me to talk with people from other countries and to help them. It is always very rewarding to see my students gaining confidence and improving their English skills through my lessons.

The topic of our lesson can be up to you! As a rough guideline, I can provide lessons of two main categories:

1) Free talk -
You can practise small talk with me, we can talk about your hobbies, your day, the weather... you name it! This will help you to develop your conversation skills in a relaxed setting.

2) Specific area -
You may have a particular topic in mind that you would like us to talk about. For example, it could be something regarding: 'Health and Lifestyle', 'Travel and Culture', 'Conveying Business Ideas'... etc.
You may have specific questions for me regarding pronunciation, grammar etc. You may also ask me to check things such as an email you have written.
I am trained in teaching over a broad range of topics and I have a range of materials on many topics of which I can share with you.
