Greetings! / ALOHA ! / はじめまして！
My name is Mike, and I am originally from the U.S.A. I was born and raised in Honolulu, the biggest city in the beautiful state of Hawaii. After graduating from university, I moved to Japan in 2012 to start my new life as a working professional. I have been living in Japan ever since then.
I have taught English in Japanese public schools, private English conversation schools, and at a traditional cram school. With over a decade of teaching experience, I have met and helped many students achieve their goals and, most importantly, become confident with using English as a way to connect with the international commmunity. >> My students come from all walks of life, where my youngest pupil was 5 and my oldest student was 80!
In my free time, I enjoy traveling a lot. This includes both domestic and international trips. On my days off, I would often take day trips to random places within central Tokyo and the surrounding suburban areas for sightseeing. Whenever I am in the city, I like to go cafe-hopping. Speaking of traveling, I am also an aviation fan!
But aside from traveling, I also enjoy karaoke and watching Japanese dramas. I believe that singing some songs and watching some interesting TV programs helps you learn a language....
Since I am very well-traveled and sociable, I am open to discussing various topics duting English converdation lessons.
I look forward to meeting you for meaningful lessons where we can learn from each other!
