ーTORA's historyー
Korean born in Japan
Native speaker of both Japanese and Korean
Foreign language teaching experience of 4 years
Experience living in Korea for 8 years
Multilingual (Japanese, Korean, English, Chinese)
ーReasons for choosing TORAー
1.Japanese native speaker
【If you were to learn math from either a foreigner or from a Japanese, which would be more effective?】
→Low stress is vital for the transmission of knowledge!
Because I'm a Japanese native speaker, I can precisely and smoothly convey language study know-how and can explain grammar, pronunciation and can effectively explain about the similarities between Japan and Korea!
2.A teacher can motivate you like a car navigation system.
【One way streets are recipes for disaster】
→The quality of a teacher depends on whether they can figure out the best way to teach massive linguistic knowledge efficiently and joyfully to their students, or not.
Not just conveying what you know, but knowing how to teach it.
It's vital to have experience being able to carefully observe and ascertain students.
When I show a new driver how to get somewhere, I definitely don't show them the hardest route.
I show the route which is safest and easiest to understand.
Difficulty and lack of understanding lead to accidents.
Therefore, at the beginning I completely leave out difficult and confusing things in my lessons.
This is my main principle, that having thorough knowledge of an easy to understand, safe and easy to remember route is important.
Korean native speaker
I have 4 years of teaching experience and know-how, so rest assured you can drive without anxiety. I'll confidently lead the way.
3、I used to be a student, too
→ The faculty of sympathy is a fundamental element of humans
I myself have studied for many years and have had many teachers and instructors.
I looked back on my years of study and had many regrets about not having better ways of studying.
So I understand a student's feelings: Things like, "this part is difficult", "this part takes a lot of time," "I don't understand and am annoyed," "I wish the teacher would explain again," "I wonder if this and this are the same?" "Sorry for making the same mistake over and over," and so on.
"No problem! Ask whatever you need to, as much as you need to,"
is my reply and I always stress the importance of repetion and practice but students may feel, "OK, let's get on with the next thing!"ㅋㅋㅋ
Or, "I totally understand this and it's getting tedious!" These are good things.^^
4、Boring lessons are a crime
→ Fun is connected to motivation
I neither fool around nor goof around in my lessons with no fun chatting about things that don't have anything to do with the topic.
If you have fun understanding or if you feel great and confident when you say something in English and it's pronounced correctly and grammatically right,
such experiences where you make the utmost efforts to raise your level will change your perspective to study.
In my lessons, I will let you experience a lot of fun by leading you to the correct answer in a precise manner.
5、Goal setting
→ Not just fun and not just continuing
An example of goal setting
Condition※ 45minutes twice a week、10 minutes of daily self-study、10 minutes of homework a day
Week 1、begin Hangul, begin grammar basics
↓
Week 2、Unrestricted reading and writing、able to introduce self to a Korean
↓
Week 3、able to count in Korean、mastery of relative pronouns
↓
Week 4、complete travel Korean
"I want to make goals like those above! But I want to speak when I travel!" Whether big or small, let's aim for the target and achieve some goals!
If you just continue endlessly you won't feel like you've achieved any level!
I will propose goals for those of you who do not have any!
Thank you for reading the above reasons for choosing TORA.
For those of you who are a little interested! For those of you who want to begin Korean but don't know where to start, for those of you who want to study abraod but are dismayed that you have no opportunities to speak Korean! I am looking forward to hearing from you!^^
