Hello!
My name is Ulas Yalcin(ウラス ヤウチン).
はじめまして。
I am from England, London and have been living and working in Japan for over 7 years. I speak English at a native level, I speak Turkish at a fluent level because my parents are from Turkey and I speak conversational Japanese.
I can teach conversational English and Business English. I can help beginners, intermediate and advanced speakers of English.
Learning any subject should be an enjoyable journey. I want my students to feel relaxed and stress-free when they are in my lessons. I ensure this by catering to my students level and goal.
Learning English shouldn't be boring. I believe people learn a language the best when they are enjoying using the language. For this reason, I employ lots of fun activities and games where students can learn English and have plenty of opportunities to produce the language naturally.
I graduated in Games technology from University, so I specialise in game-based learning and gamification. I have developed many games and activities that encourage natural communication and language acquisition.
Games have goals and objectives, when we play them, we try to win by achieving the goals. Your goals and objectives for learning and improving your English skills can be viewed in the same way. So why not put them together and enjoy the process of levelling up your English skills?
In my free time I enjoy arts and crafts, playing video and tabletop games, and exercising.
My teaching style
My lessons involve lots of student talking time(STT), critical thinking and creative thinking. I want my students to build confidence and acquire English in a relaxing and engaging environment. I like to gamify my lessons, so students can have fun and learn while still being challenged with thought-provoking activities and games. I want my students to learn language that they want to use and not just want a textbook says they should learn.
