Hello everybody!
My name is Peter. I am an English teacher living in Cairns, Australia.
I have been teaching English full-time for three years to adults and children. I teach adults and children, business English, conversation English and IELTS test preparation. I speak fluent Japanese.
I understand Japanese culture, Japanese customs, and I have a lot of experience helping Japanese people improve their English. I have also been learning Vietnamese for 6 months. I understand how difficult learning a new language can be, but also how happy I am when I improve.
The focus of my lessons is helping students improve their communication skills. Correct grammar is important, but studying the rules of grammar is not the best way. I teach students how to use correct patterns of English and try to give as much chance to practice, and as much feedback as possible.
I have a TESOL (Teaching English as a Second language) qualification and I have done IELTS teacher training.
I am looking forward to meeting you and I hope you try one of my lessons sometime!
