こんにちは！私の名前はカナです.先生になりたいです!
Hello! My name is Kana, and I am from Virginia, United States. I am a TEFL/TESOL certified English tutor. I love teaching and offer my lessons to students of any age and background. My lessons are tailored to the needs of the student, and I love to customize lessons to make them more enjoyable and easily understandable. I am flexible and love to have fun in each lesson. I have lived on both the East and West coast of the United States, and enjoy teaching the nuances in spoken English in different regions of the country.
I have had a passion for languages from a very young age. Growing up, my grandmother spoke Tagalog and had me teaching her English as a child. Now that I am a certified tutor, I am able to share my passion with people from all over the world. I taught myself Japanese from zero, and know what it’s like to be a beginner in a new language! When I am not tutoring, I love to read, write, garden, and play video games. I also love to travel, and hope to visit new countries in the coming year. The photos below include my favorite food (Filipino style), my dog Atlas, and me at the Grand Canyon!
Whether you are 5 or 75, I would love to join you on your journey to English fluency. It is never too late to learn a new language, and I love to encourage my students to think outside the box and challenge themselves. I deliver my lessons in an accurate but fun way of learning by incorporating games and interactive activities to keep students engaged and wanting to learn. I look forward to meeting you, I will see you soon!
