Early Bird or Night Owl

Weekly Topic: Are you an early bird or a night owl?

Natalie

I like to think of myself as a Night Owl.
I'm happy to be awake all (most of the) night, to experience the nightlife and socialising and interactions with other people.
I never liked waking up early and mostly couldn't communicate in the mornings without at least two cups of coffee. Students early in the morning got used to my ways and that it would usually mean lots of work if they had to 'suffer' me in the first lesson.

But recent events, pre Covid-19, and the lockdowns and isolation have changed that - over the last few months as the number of places to go out and socialise and living in a very hot climate have meant that nighttime, no longer meant lots of socialising.
A relatively new friend persuaded me that getting up early was a good thing and because so many options were limited, but I wanted some routine and to find a way to get out of the house, exercise and stay healthy,  so for the last several months I have been waking and getting up with the sun, around 6 am.  I would be out of the house by 6.30 am and go to the beach. This meant I missed the heat of the day.  I would swim for an hour in the sea, and enjoy sunrises and the tranquillity of mornings at the beach.

I still love nighttimes

and don't go to bed so early, but I am still trying to get up early, and exercise and have a healthier lifestyle and the day becomes so much more productive.

I would love to hear from you which time of day do you prefer?

I was, still am, but I bless my friend who pressed me into getting up early.

I like your life style. I wonder if I could get up early and feel the tranquillity of mornings at the beach....
But I am a Night Owl:)
