Ugarit

Vorrei raccontarvi qualcosa di me. Sono nata in Siria in una città di mare chiamata Lattakia, affacciata sul Mediterraneo, che è considerata il porto più importante della Siria. Anticamente era chiamata Laodicea ed oggi Lattakia, detta nella lingua araba Al-Lādhiqiyya, una delle culle della civiltà.

A 16 km di distanza a nord della città si trovano le rovine di Ugarit ( Ras Shamra), una delle più antiche città del mondo, sede di un importante regno fenicio. Vi furono ritrovati i più antichi esempi di scrittura del più antico alfabeto conosciuto. I famosi caratteri cuneiforme.

I would like to tell you something about me. I was born in Syria in a seaside town called Lattakia, overlooking the Mediterranean, which is considered the most important port in Syria.
