I have never heard of Queer Eye or the Fab 5 until I found this show on Netflix by random, and I love it!
It is a reality television series, based on a team of 5 gay professionals giving lifestyle and fashion makeovers to guests. The reason I watched this show is because it was based in Japan. The show is in half Japanese and half English. By the way, Naomi Watanabe was in one episode.
The guests are usually shy, being stuck in life, etc, and they are supposed to be transformed in one week.
I don't honestly believe people can change in one week, just by changing their appearance and their homes. Maybe they think they have changed, but the change is temporary. It is a television show afterall.
However, what I like about this show is how the 5 guys try to bring out the best in the guests, to help them build confidence. One of the things they said was, "You can't have a good relationship with anyone unless you have a good relationship with yourself."
I have heard it somewhere before, and it makes sense, even though nobody really knows how to have a good relationship with oneself. I am still learning.
When I was listening to what they were talking about, I could relate to it. I felt, "are they talking about me?" It really hit home. I relate to all the guests in the four episodes and I was crying my eyes out at each episode.
I am going to watch it all over again ^_^
