The bright Easter celebrations start to take shape as the equatorial sun rises over Uganda's undulating hills and verdant valleys.
This happy occasion is commemorated by a vibrant tapestry of traditions and customs that form the foundation of this country's rich cultural heritage. Ugandans congregate to commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ while the wonderful aroma of freshly roasted meat from various household animals fills the air.

As believers gather to remember the sacrifice made by Jesus for humanity's salvation, churches fill with the scent of incense and the sound of singing. On the other side, Good Friday represents the start of the holiday season for non-Christians, and as a result, pubs and clubs are frequently packed to the brim with partygoers Christians gather for the Easter Vigil as the sun sets on Saturday, piercing the night with the light of their candles. The faithful are eagerly anticipating the joy of the resurrection at this time.
