- Halloween’ is an abbreviation of ‘All Hallows Eve’, which means the day before All Saints Day.
- This festival celebrated the end of summer and the beginning of winter.
- The tradition originated with the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, when people would light bonfires and wear costumes to chase away ghosts.
