Part 1 : Niigata Camping trip

StephanieRiann

I had a few students request some information about my camping trip vacation :

Day 1

5am wake up and finish packing

6am leave and start driving towards Niigata get McDonald Breakfast sandwiches for the drive

Took about 6 hours to get to Niigata with traffic and pit stops along the way.

12:00 Arrive and have lunch at the Snow Peak restaurant then check in at 12:45

Drive around the camp ground yo find the perfect place to set up tent for 4 or 5 nights.

Begin setting up tent around 13:30 — when building the tent it has three parts main body , extension to make a bigger living space for supplies and the inner tent and gear also need to be set up — full build and set up takes about 2.5-3 hours —finished around 16:00

Then it’s time to go have Hot spring bath and eat supper at the restaurant 16:00-18:30

It’s a tiring day so — I prepare the sleeping gear in the inner tent and we are in bed by 21:00 for the night .

Day 2 wake up around 6:00

Coffee and biscuits , take Karin for a walk ,hang out in the inner tent while the bugs are active .

Hot spring from 10am and I start preparing Lunch Rice and Eel .

Cooking rice so it’s  prepared properly takes about an hour — since it’s in an earthenware pot the timing and heat are important and you have to watch it very carefully — it takes a lot of practice .

Day 2 continued with relaxing time and reading books, enjoying campfire at night  etc .as did subsequent days 3 and 4
My internet connection isn't so good and my phone battery is dying quickly so I don't keep my phone on for communication during camping trips except to check email once or twice a day .

I will post a follow-up post with some more pictures of our time at the camp field and explanation after returning from our trip !

Looking  forward to chatting with you all again soon !

kindly Stephanie
