Writing songs in English? I can help!

Lyric and poetry writing is an entirely different and abstract way of using a language, and the presence of idiomatic or flowery language can make the medium difficult to work with. The good news is — I'm here to help! I've been playing guitar for fifteen years, and writing songs for about half that time, and I've been in several bands and songwriting duos.
As far as styles I like, folk and alt-rock are some of my favorites, but I love anything with catchy, pretty, or thought-provoking lyrics! I was raised on songwriters like Jackson Browne, Paul Simon, and Bob Dylan but I keep an open ear for anybody doing interesting things with words and music.
Send me some lyrics from one song you're working on (with or without tabs or sheet music is OK!) and some examples of songs or artists you're inspired by. Using the examples of things you like, I'll be better able to see what moves you in a song, and help you achieve that in your own lyrics! If you are comfortable including a recording of you singing or speaking the lyrics in rhythm, that will help me match the rhythm, but it's not completely necessary! While I will be checking for incorrect vocabulary or sometimes grammar, I will primarily be helping you perfect your artistic tone or voice for a given song, helping you choose words that best communicate that, and ensuring the rhythm of your words comes across as natural to first-language English speakers!
Let me know how soon you need the revisions, and I will send you an assortment of different suggestions and possibilities for your song by that time!
