Get ready to unleash your imagination as we explore how classic fairytales can be reimagined for a whole new generation! This lesson is perfect for anyone who loves a good story, regardless of age.

What you'll learn:

  • The Magic of Retelling: We'll discover how familiar stories can be transformed by changing the setting, characters, or even the point of view.
  • Modern Twists on Timeless Tales: Explore ways to make classic fairytales more relatable to kids today.
  • The Power of Imagination: This lesson is all about unleashing your creativity and coming up with new ways to tell old stories.

Activities (adaptable based on age):

  • Story Shuffle! Let's mix things up! Students choose a classic story and then imagine it taking place in a completely different setting, like outer space, the underwater world, or even the Wild West!
  • Character Makeover! We'll give a classic fairytale character a modern makeover. Maybe Red Riding Hood has a smartphone or Goldilocks uses a hoverboard! Students can draw or describe their reimagined characters. (All Ages)
  • Write a New Chapter! (Advanced) Students choose a classic story and write a short continuation, imagining what happens after the "happily ever after."

This lesson is a fun and engaging way to spark children's creativity and encourage a lifelong love of storytelling. It allows them to explore classic tales in new ways and develop their own unique storytelling voices.
