Methodology

Warm-Up (5 minutes)
- Start with an icebreaker. Ask students if they’ve ever eaten at a restaurant in an English-speaking environment. Discuss their experiences briefly.
- Introduce essential vocabulary (e.g., menu items, bill/check, waiter, etc.).

Modeling (5 minutes)
- Teacher and student (or two students) act out a sample dialogue between a waiter and a customer.
- Focus on pronunciation, intonation, and rhythm of speech.

Role-Play Activity (15 minutes)
- Students take turns playing the role of both a waiter and a customer.
- Provide prompts (e.g., "The restaurant is known for its pasta. The customer is looking for something vegetarian").
- Correct errors gently, focusing on pronunciation and word usage.

Feedback & Review (5 minutes)
- Recap key phrases and give feedback on pronunciation, grammar, and fluency.
- Highlight areas for improvement and provide extra phrases for future use (like handling mistakes during ordering).
How I Teach
I use an interactive, communicative approach to teaching. My lessons are highly practical, focusing on real-world scenarios that students are likely to encounter. I encourage active participation through activities like role-playing, discussions, and situational tasks. I believe that learning by doing helps students retain knowledge and grow their confidence.
During the lesson, I provide personalized feedback to address students’ individual challenges, whether it’s pronunciation, grammar, or fluency. I also ensure that students feel comfortable asking questions and practicing without fear of making mistakes.
