There is more to the continent than what we see in the media

Africa is often painted as a country instead of a continent. It is a melting pot of culture, origin of most modern music genres, wild life, upcoming economies and a n important business partner of Asian countries. Perhaps it is one of the richest, if not the richest continent on earth. However, it has multiple problems; from diseases to poverty and political instabilities. Regardless, it is a continent less known to so many people and as such, and as someone with ties to Africa, I find it useful to talk about a thing or two about the continent that sits on the equator. Classes will be conducted in a manner that allows students to talk about what they know about Africa, while I am pointing grammatical issues and introducing new vocabulary as well answering questions relevant to English learning and the topic itself.
