I would suggest my students to start from Unit 1 and check all the topics that are covered in order to make sure that no weak points are left behind.
The more advanced topic can be properly understood and grasped only once the previous units have been completely learned and no flaws are left.
Still, my students should feel free to ask me to cover any one of the units by their choice, should they for example wish to rehearse a unit that might have been particularly tough for them.

These are the planned steps for each lesson:
 
In regard of the 0 during our first meeting, we will have a small talk. We will check your goals and your starting level. I'll provide my student a sample of the first 2 units of the textbook and we will cover them, so that the student can see how I usually teach and help.
 
My lessons are shaped upon the textbook that I'm suggesting, that's why I advice those who might wish for my help to buy it before the second lesson begins.
 
The Essential grammar in use textbook also includes exercises, voice samples and an ebook version; those features can allow the students to work on the units even by themselves between a lesson and the other.
 
This is the standard routine of my grammar lessons:
 
1 greetings, previous lessons exercises check
 
2 theory will be explained by the teacher
 
3 for each exercise of the current unit, the first lines will be done together with the teacher, so that the student will be able to grasp the patterns.
 
4 the pupil will be able to ask any question and the teacher will answer.
