Are any of you confident in speaking Japanese, but find reading Japanese to be a bit of a challenge?
In this lesson, students will practice by using reading comprehension pages from
the “テーマ別 中級から学ぶ日本語” and
“テーマ別 上級で学ぶ日本語” textbooks
which are used in many Japanese language schools, as well as newspaper articles and novels.
Of course, if you have any reading materials that you would like to use,
I will do my best to accommodate your requests.

Japanese language is full of demonstrative words and abbreviations, which makes it very difficult to read.
However, if you get into the habit of reading little by little, you will gradually learn to be able to understand Japanese texts!
In this lesson, students will practice by using reading comprehension pages from
the “テーマ別 中級から学ぶ日本語” and
“テーマ別 上級で学ぶ日本語” textbooks
which are used in many Japanese language schools, as well as newspaper articles and novels.
The newspaper articles for this lesson will mainly be about social events.
For the novels, we will use short stories from famous authors such as Shinichi Hoshi (星新一), Atouda Takashi (阿刀田高), and Jiro Akagawa (赤川次郎).
Of course, if you have any reading materials that you would like to use,
I will do my best to accommodate your requests.
I will send you the materials upon your request.
Please look over them before the lesson if possible.
