  1. Nouns:

    • Definition: Nouns are words that name people, places, things, or ideas.
    • Examples: teacher, city, book, happiness.
    • Use in Writing: Nouns are the subjects and objects in sentences, providing the main elements that verbs and other parts of speech act upon.
    • Example Sentence: The cat sleeps on the mat .
  2. Verbs:

    • Definition: Verbs express actions, states, or occurrences.
    • Examples: run, is, happen.
    • Use in Writing: Verbs bring sentences to life by describing what the subject does or what happens to it.
    • Example Sentence: She runs every morning.
  3. Adjectives:

    • Definition: Adjectives describe or modify nouns, giving more detail.
    • Examples: happy, large, blue.
    • Use in Writing: Adjectives enrich writing by providing specific details about nouns, helping to create vivid images.
    • Example Sentence: The happy cat sleeps on the large mat.
  4. Adverbs:

    • Definition: Adverbs modify verbs, adjectives, or other adverbs, often indicating how, when, where, or to what extent.
    • Examples: quickly, very, yesterday.
    • Use in Writing: Adverbs enhance writing by adding detail about the manner, degree, or frequency of actions and descriptions.
    • Example Sentence: She quickly runs every morning.
  5. Pronouns:

    • Definition: Pronouns replace nouns to avoid repetition and simplify sentences.
    • Examples: he, she, it, they.
    • Use in Writing: Pronouns make writing smoother by substituting for previously mentioned nouns, keeping sentences concise.
    • Example Sentence: She sleeps on it .
  6. Prepositions:

    • Definition: Prepositions show relationships between nouns (or pronouns) and other words in a sentence.
    • Examples: in, on, at, between.
    • Use in Writing: Prepositions clarify the position, time, or manner in which an action occurs, adding context.
    • Example Sentence: The cat sleeps on the mat.
  7. Conjunctions:

    • Definition: Conjunctions connect words, phrases, or clauses, coordinating or subordinating ideas.
    • Examples: and, but, because.
    • Use in Writing: Conjunctions link ideas and add complexity to sentences by joining thoughts and concepts.
    • Example Sentence: She runs and sings every morning.
  8. Interjections:

    • Definition: Interjections are abrupt words or phrases that express emotion or reaction.
    • Examples: oh, wow, ouch.
    • Use in Writing: Interjections add emotion or emphasis, often standing alone or at the beginning of a sentence.
    • Example Sentence: Wow, the cat sleeps on the mat!
