Objective: Improve the student's business English vocabulary, email writing skills, and conversational abilities in a professional context.

Lesson Outline

  1. Introduction and Warm-up (10 minutes)

    • Greetings and brief discussion about the student's current use of English in their job.
    • Icebreaker activity: Discussing business news or recent events in the student's industry.

  2. Vocabulary Building (15 minutes)

    • Introduction of key business vocabulary.
    • Activity: Matching words with definitions.
    • Practice: Using new vocabulary in sentences.

  3. Email Writing (20 minutes)

    • Components of a professional email (subject, greeting, body, closing).
    • Example analysis: Breakdown of a sample business email.
    • Activity: Writing an email response to a given scenario.

  4. Role-play and Conversation Practice (10 minutes)

    • Role-play a business meeting or a negotiation.
    • Focus on using polite language, agreeing and disagreeing, and making suggestions.

  5. Feedback and Review (5 minutes)

  • Discuss the student's performance in the activities.
  • Provide constructive feedback and highlight areas for improvement.
  • Q&A: Answer any questions the student may have.
