I have a PhD in English Literature, have taught at university (both undergraduate and MA level), and have published academic articles - all because reading and talking about books are my great passions.
If you are interested in studying literature with me, I'll be delighted to work with you! I'm an enthusiastic and knowledgable tutor, able to tailor the level to your ability.
Maybe you have some books or poems you have to study for school or university? I'd be delighted to help you analyse these and achieve your best in your classes.
However, you might just be interested in studying literture for fun. I can help you with your chosen texts, or provide you with suggestions.
In our sessions I can teach you about the history of the text and it's author, explain how to analyse works, identify key themes and techniques the author is using, and give you the tools to read further.
What kind of works might we read? Some works I've given to previous students include Emily Dickenson's poems, Mary Shelley's novels, and Tolstoy's short stories. I love British eighteenth century Romantic literture, Russian literature, twentieth-century Japanese literature, and most poetry! What are your favourites?
