Lesson Objectives

1. Students will understand the meaning of culture & ways by which Ghanaians demonstrate their culture.

2. Students will be able to understand the meaning of World Heritage Sites, their objectives & examples.

3. Students will be able to understand & appreciate the importance and value of World Heritage sites in Ghana for education.

4. Students will be able to appreciate the importance and value of World Heritage sites in Ghana for cultural tourism.

 

Warm-up

1. Discuss with students how future generations will feel like if they can only imagine the picture of historical monuments of their forebears. .

2. Using WH-questions, help students to understand how sustainable world Heritage sites can be useful in learning and cultural tourism.

 

Instruct & Model

1. The Teacher provides instruction on the meaning of culture & its factors in Ghana

 2. The Teacher provides instruction on the meaning of World Heritage, its origin, history & Its importance.

3. Discuss with students the value of World Heritage Sites in Ghana for the purposes of education & cultural tourism.

4. Read out the summary of the plot of the Ghanaian film & point out the influence of colonialism on a public servant.

 

Guided Practice

1. Guide the students to explain the term “World Heritage.”

2. Let students list 4 examples of World Heritage Sites in Ghana.

3. Let students point out why World Heritage Sites are useful in the learning process.

 

Independent Practice
