文法を完全に無視する生徒さんもいれば、マニアックに取り付く生徒さんもいます。文法にさほど注意しないでいると、自分が知っている範囲のみでしか英語を話せなくなります。反対に文法を気にしすぎてしまうと、スピーキングに過剰に神経質になってしまい、話し方の流れにも影響してきてしまいます。

このテキストは、実用的な文法のポイントにフォーカスを当てたコースをもとにしていますが、もう少し会話内容の文法学習に特化しています。各ユニットでは、１～２点の実用的な文法ポイントと日常使いされているシーンを紹介しています。ライティングや文法のポイントがマークされたトピックのリーディングの練習をします。

This is a lesson for students who want to focus on learning new grammar points.

For intermediate students, if you have "Grammar in Use (Intermediate)" (3e/4e) we can use that as a basis for this course. If you don't, don't worry, we will use some original material that I've written over the past five years. For beginners, we will use original material.

This is a step-by-step course, meaning there is a list of grammar goals that I will check as you take multiple lessons.

We will follow your pace. Sometimes, we may find a grammar point is too easy for you and move onto something new. Sometimes, we may find that a grammar point is more challenging and need to spend extra time on it.

I will incorporate all four skill areas into this course: speaking, reading, writing, and listening. I will use many extra materials, such as videos, blog entries, songs, or articles to reinforce the grammar points learned.
