"Things Fall Apart" by Chinua Achebe is creative work of African literature that explores the life and culture of the Igbo people in pre-colonial Nigeria.
The novel tells the story of Okonkwo, a respected leader in his community who struggles to maintain his traditional values and way of life as he confronts the trespassing of European colonialism into the African way of life.
One of the most striking features of "Things Fall Apart" is its exploration of the collision between African and European cultures. Chinua Achebe exposes the destructive impact of colonialism on traditional African societies and the loss of identity and meaning that accompanies it.
