Who is Teacher Layton?
Layton is a British-born native speaker from Liverpool in England. He describes himself as an international guy. With a Jamaican father, a Scottish mother and a Philippine wife, and five children, he's from a multi-cultural background.

Layton is a British-born native speaker from Liverpool in England. He describes himself as an international guy. With a Jamaican father, a Scottish mother and a Philippine wife, and five children, he's from a multi-cultural background.
He has worked in positions such as:
- British Army Soldier
- Nightclub bouncer (I'll explain)
- Professional Sales account management
- English College lecturer teaching Sociology, Criminology, Literacy, and ESOL
- Director of a small arts Agency for 15 years
He attended several English Universities. He gained a BA (Hons) degree in Sociology at the Goldsmiths University of London. He also studied toward a Masters degree in Literacy and ESOL at Lancaster University and gained a PGCE (Post Graduate Certificate in Education - Literacy Specialist) at Bolton University making him a qualified teacher.
Leighton has been to Japan twice. He lived in Tokyo for a year and visited Osaka and Kyoto and Fukuoka. He also met the Japanese community in Sao Paulo in Brazil. He has traveled extensively to places such as Jamaica, Norway, Cuba, the US and Mexico, and so on.
He moved a year ago to the Philippines just outside of Manilla with his wife and three small boys.
It is interesting to speak with someone who has been to places, had experiences, and done things! Layton will talk about anything you want to talk about. If you need to improve your conversational abilities for a particular situation he can help with that too.
