Learn vocabulary relating to the topic of job hunting and their definitions such as : Benefits, Salary and Promotion. Learn how to prepare for a job interview by becoming familiar with the kinds of questions you may be asked and how to respond correctly. Become aware of the kinds of questions you should never ask during an interview so to increase your chances of securing that perfect job.
This 45 minute lesson is part of my Everyday English series which focuses on practical or social English. This comprehensive lesson has eight worksheets which will improve a student's chances of securing a job. Lesson is suitable for intermediate and higher level adult students.
Worksheets encourage critical thinking skills by requiring the student to consider which factors are most important in an ideal job such as salary or working hours. Worksheets will expand a students vocabulary by requiring them to complete sentences after definitions have been explained.
Students will learn the type of questions typically asked during an interview such as : Why did you leave your last job? This will help students prepare appropriate responses.
Student's critical thinking skills will be tested by giving them statements that are sometimes made during an interview and are then asked to consider if these statement are useful things to say or not useful.
Students will also be given a list of things one should never say during a job interview that will damage their chances of success, such as : I'm so nervous or What's the salary?
This lesson is suitable for anyone who has a job interview with a foreign company soon and who wishes to greatly improve their chances of securing that dream job.
