Learn English by watching TV or movies!
If you want to become a more natural and fluent English speaker, this is the lesson for you!
Before the lesson, please choose an English TV program or movie that you are interested in. Message me before the lesson and I can give you some recommendations based on your likes and dislikes. Please also choose an accent that you like - For example, British English, American English...etc.
Watch one short episode or about 20 minutes of the movie before the lesson. Be sure to write down any phrases or words that you don't know. I can help you to understand and use them in the lesson.
Lesson Plan:
1. Some small talk and then please tell me what happened in the episode or 20 minutes of the movie. Try to include as much detail as possible, and use some new vocabulary that you learned while watching.
2. Please ask me about any words or phrases from the program or movie that you did not understand or that you don't know how to use properly. I will help you to understand them and we can practise making examples together.
3. Talk to me about anything interested you noticed while you were watching. For example, a cultural difference that you want to know more about, or perhaps you want to hear my opinion on something that happened.
After the lesson I will send you sentence examples of the words or phrases you asked me about in the lesson. I will then record these sentences and send you the audio files. Please use these to practise your pronunciation. If you like, you can also make your own examples and ask me to correct them in our next lesson.
This lesson will improve your speaking, listening and pronunciation. You will learn how to speak naturally in English, which is something you cannot learn from a textbook!
