David Mtn Tutor Interview
- Q. Hi David Mtn! Thank you for taking the time to do this interview. May we ask you to briefly introduce yourself?
-
A. Hi everyone, my name is David, I am 33 years old and I live in St Vincent de durfort (small village in the south east of France).
- Q. Please tell us more about your hometown and the area where you currently reside.
-
A. My village is located in the department of Ardèche. L’Ardèche is a wonderful place, with a lot of mountains, rivers, famous caves like « Grotte Chauvet ». Many European tourists like to travel here during summer, as we have many camping. It is a very peaceful destination that all of you must visit someday
- Q. What motivated you to become a tutor on Cafetalk?
-
A. Since a few years, I got the opportunity to teach French and English to Thai students (high school and elementary students). This experience was so great, I always had very good time teaching to people and helping them to feel more confident. Since then, it became clear for me that I had to help as many students as people to learn this beautiful language that is French.
- Q. What are you usually up to when you're not teaching on Cafetalk? What are your hobbies and interests?
-
A. Most of my free time, I like reading books (manga, self-development books, novels…).
I also like to travel, to discover new cultures, new languages, new traditions. Since 3 years, I also practice « calisthenics », which makes me feel more confident about myself. I practice it 6 days per week. - Q. A lot of students are probably curious about the atmosphere in your lessons. What can a student imagine a lesson with you to be like? What’s your teaching style?
-
A. Actually, the most important is that students feel at ease and feel confident. Making the students feel confident will help them much more for improving their skills. Most important, never be scared to fail. I am always positive and make them believe in themselves.
- Q. Which lessons would you recommend to your students?
-
A. All depends your goal. If you want to travel in France and to learn more the pronunciation of words, more vocabulary, then the different « Free talk » lessons are the best for you. But If you are looking for a job in France and having a long stay, the lesson « Simulation entretien en Français » might be the best one for you.
- Q. Finally, would you like to leave a message for your current and future students?
-
A. Be confident, French is hard language, same as Japanese and many other languages. But as long as you believe in yourself, you can do anything. I will always do my best to help you reach your goal.
