Nain Tutor Interview
- Q. Hello Nain, can you introduce yourself to Cafetalk community?
-
A.Hi, My name is Nain. I teach Korean lesson in Cafetalk. From the moment I started to read Japanese animation (Slam Dunk and Dragon Ball) when I was young, I was interested in Japan and began to study Japanese as a second foreign language at highschool. I like to travel and have been travelling different countries. I still remember kindness of Japanese people, and Japan is the country that I want to visit again.
- Q. Tell us about the city you currently live in
-
A. I was born and raised in Seoul, but I currently live in Yangpyeong, Geyonggi province. With its clean air and quiet neighborhood, Yangpyeong is the place that is still in development. It’s 30 minutes away from Seoul (by train) and located in between northern and southern rivers. Surrounded by mountains and rivers, the area has nice views. There are many resorts and guest houses for visitors who come to waterpark during the summer and skiing during the winter.
- Q.What made you to become Cafetalk tutor?
-
A. I really like Korean as a language. I wanted to introduce and share the language with people from all over the world.
- Q. What do you usually do when you have free time? Do you have any hobby?
-
A. I usually go to library or cafe to read a book or study Chinese. I passed Japanese translator for tourism in 2015 but did not pass Chinese yet. I will try Chinese again this year. My goal is to become a civil diplomat who can introduce Korea not only in Korean but also English, Japanese and Chinese.
- Q. Do you have any recommended study method for students studying Korean?
-
A. I often follow lines in movies or follow what a newscaster says in TV to practice pronunciation. For me, the most difficult part was listening because it’s hard to understand a word you cannot pronounce. You will forget what you have learned unless you actually use the language everyday. Thus, it is crucial to practice everyday just even little by little.
- Q. You offer various lessons in Cafetalk. Among these lessons, what lesson do you recommend?
-
A. I recommend free conversation lesson. If you want to study Korean in detailed and structured way, I recommend Korean package lesson. If you practice Korean consistently, I assure you will speak Korean with more confident.
- Q. Before we finish the interview, please give your last message to Cafetalk students
-
A. Failure is the mother of success. When I did not pass the translator exam, I was frustrated and discouraged. However, I consistently challenged myself and finally passed the exam. I think some of you have been discouraged when studying the language just like I did. Trust in yourself and believe that tomorrow will be better than today.
