Dobrý den!
Nice to meet you, my name is Rin.
I teach Czech and Japanese while working as a freelance interpreter and translator.
I am originally from Tokyo. When I was in high school, I was intrigued by Czech animations and went on to major in Czech language at university. At first it was simply out of curiosity, but I gradually became fascinated with Czech culture and studied abroad at Charles University in Prague for a year while I was still in college.
I left the world of Czech language temporarily after I got a job, but I still came back to this world which I love. I lived in the Czech Republic from 2022 to January 2024, and I now live in the Netherlands.
【Teaching Experience】
I graduated from Tokyo University of Foreign Studies with a degree in Czech language.
As a Czech language tutor, I have mostly taught practical Czech that can be applied immediately for people planning on staying in the Czech Republic or are already in the Czech Republic. (Offline)
I also have a lot of experience teaching online lessons as a conversational Japanese tutor.
【Lesson Style】
During the lesson, I do my best to help my students learn Czech in a relaxed and enjoyable way.
Although I work with languages as my job, I too have continued to study every day in order to further improve my language skills.
I would be more than happy to learn together with you as a study partner pursuing the journey to learn a language together, rather than in a teacher-student relationship.
Beginners who have never learned Czech before are also welcome to take my lessons.
Although I generally offer courses to learn grammar from scratch or to learn Czech for traveling,
I would also like to gradually customize my lessons according to my student’s personal interests, such as music, history, sightseeing and so on.
Please don’t hesitate to request a trial lesson!
【Lesson Rules】
- About lesson recordings: You are allowed to record the lesson audio as long as it is for your personal studies. (Video recordings are not allowed.) Do not pass the audio recording on to a third party or upload it online.
- About turning your video camera on/off: Since mouth movements are an important part of learning the language, I ask you to please turn your video camera on. If you would like to turn it off, please consult with me in advance.
- About lesson interruptions: Please do not hesitate to take a lesson with me even if you have small children or pets that need attention and may have to interrupt the lesson. I would be more than happy to give lessons in a relaxed atmosphere.
- About last-minute lesson cancellations: I have a chronic illness, and although it is very rare, there might be times when my symptoms become severe. In such cases, I may cancel the lesson at the last minute.
- About age restrictions for taking lessons: There are no restrictions. Students of all ages and genders are welcome in my lessons!
