Hello, my name’s Alison and I’ve been teaching English as a foreign language for the past 26 years. Most of that time was spent in South Korea, where I taught everything from kindergarten to university level. I spent over 10 years at Yongin University.
My vast experience means that I can be very versatile and flexible, and I can meet your particular needs as a student regardless of your level and your particular learning goals. I am known as a very patient teacher with low-level students, but I can teach any level of English. I like to teach English in a very practical way so that students can use what they’ve learned in their particular situations.
Having taught Korean students for 23 years, I fully understand the problems Koreans have when learning English: e.g., problems with pronunciation, grammar, and cultural differences.
For 22 years I taught in the classroom, but for the past 4 years I have also been teaching online. I have a degree in music, a CELTA certificate, a diploma in TESOL, and a diploma in teaching business English.
My interests outside of teaching include music, natural health, and church activities.
Please book a ‘Meet and Greet’ session with me where we can get to know each other, I can check your level, and we can decide on the best lessons and courses for you. Or, if you already know what course you need, you could book a trial lesson for that course.
I look forward to getting to know you and to helping you expand your English horizons.
Alison
