I'm a Go instructor. After the age of 30, I don't really have the habit of celebrating my birthday and if I don't Google it, I'm not exactly sure how old I am. (I'm now 33 years old)
Although I'm required to write a self-introduction, since I don't have any extraordinary achievements, I'll write about my training experiences.
As I am a person without much confidence and far from diligent, I particularly neglected the study of "reading", which is a skill extremely important in Go. Therefore, I ignored the capturing race and the game-ending moves and from a professional aspect, I often missed the chance of winning in Go. Nonetheless, instead of focusing on "which strategies (reading your opponent's moves) should I use to win the game", you should consider the bigger picture: "where do I want to be and what's my purpose of winning this game". I'm proud to say that my strategic skills have become very sensitive.
My self-introduction went a bit long but I want to use this platform to share the concept that in Go,
depending on your strategy, you can defeat players who are better at tactics (even if you're not good at predicting your opponent's next moves you can still beat them). I hope I can share the epitome of the concept "winning Go by using strategies" with you.
I use Webi Go and Go Kids 2 in my lessons.
