At 43, my life has been a captivating tapestry woven from threads of samurai heritage, army grit, and the digital revolution. Growing up in Japan, I dreamt of wielding katanas, not keyboards, but fate (and maybe a misplaced decimal point on a recruiter's form) landed me in the heartland of America, trading cherry blossoms for cornfields.

But Illinois has not dulled my sense of adventure. By day, I navigate the digital galaxies of information technology, Linux being my trusty starship By night, I delve into the mysterious underworld of mycology, unearthing the secrets of fungi in the damp embrace of Southern Illinois forests.

When I am not battling server gremlins or befriending mushrooms, I gaze at the cosmos, my thoughts wrestling with the mind-bending theories of astrophysics and theoretical astrophysics. The vastness of the universe both humbles and ignites my soul, a constant reminder of the wonders that lie beyond the hum of our daily lives.

So, who am I? I'm a curious amalgam of contradictions – a soldier turned geek, a son of the East rooted in the Midwest, a techie with a head in the stars and feet in the fungal underworld. I'm an accidental astro-mycologist, a testament to the unexpected twists and turns life throws our way. And I wouldn't trade my unique journey for anything in the world.

I possess a multifaceted background encompassing not only the aforementioned fields but also a substantial professional experience within the medical sector, both in teaching and clinical roles. Additionally, I have cultivated over two decades of expertise in the information technology field, having worked for renowned companies such as Apple and GoDaddy.

I prioritize student-centered learning, empowering individuals to choose their preferred learning style. I believe that when students feel comfortable and engaged, they are more likely to absorb the material. My teaching approach emphasizes making lessons enjoyable and interactive. Recognizing that learners possess diverse learning styles, I strive to be flexible in my instructional methods.
